My goal was to make as many qso's as possible. Mainly in SSB on 80/40 and WARC but other bands (including 6 meters) should not be forgotten. From my previous ''dx-pedition'' to SV9 in 2001 I knew that when 6 meters was open I could work stations on my multiband dipole as well so no separate 6 meters antenna was in my luggage. And as my laptop has no sound card, no digital mode was available. Our party was 3 persons and I (being the only ham) had to give in ofcourse and behave social for a few days. I planned to use a sloper antenna for all bands, which I also could convert to a vertical for 40 meters. The results which I got from testing this antenna in the MMANA antenna design program (tnx Mako San!) were very good. But as this little story is written before my take off, I do not know if things went as I planned. So I will take some wire and RG58 as well to make some dipoles just in case of. |

But things went a little different as planned here. My antenna system was a vertical for 40 meters and the G5RV. Unfortunately both antenna's did not tune on 6 meters so there was no activity on 50 MHz. Also 80 meters was a problem because of the high noise level. |
